Basin Healthcare Center is licensed as a full service Acute Care Hospital. What insurances do you accept ?
Basin accepts all patients regardless of their insurance. As you know, insurance coverage can vary greatly not only between insurances, but between insurance plans within the same insurance company. For the best clarification of your coverage, contact Basin at 432-362-9900 to inquire about your insurance coverage. Our outstanding insurance department will be happy to speak with you about your coverage and will be able to speak with you about how we can help you manage your hospital bill.
Can I be treated if I don't have medical insurance? How much can I expect to pay for treatment if I do not have medical insurance?
We are happy to treat patients without medical insurance. Depending on the nature of your visit, the cost varies widely depending on the services rendered. The cost of your visit will depend on your specific procedure, and will increase if there is a need for lab tests, radiology procedures, admission into the hospital, and additional services. We will gladly visit with you about the expected amount of your procedures prior to your procedure being performed. Our outstanding registration and billing department will gladly work through any financial options that are available to assist you in paying for your services at Basin.

Patients, employers and insurance companies can contact the following number for all billing questions, including itemized statements and payment arrangements: Basin Healthcare Center Billing Department 432-362-9900Phone 442-362-9029Fax
Do I need to make an appointment to come to Basin Healthcare Center?
Emergency Services will be seen on a first come-first serve basis. Any other procedures will be scheduled through your physician’s office. Pre-employment screening/work related services will be scheduled by your employer.
When should I come to Basin Healthcare Center’s Emergency services department versus going to a trauma level emergency room or my Primary doctor?
Our medical providers have specialty training and experience in Emergency Medicine. In general, if you have an acute medical problem, and you do not require the assistance of an ambulance, we should be able to provide appropriate medical care with courtesy, speed, and excellence. You can normally be seen immediately upon your arrival, which avoids long wait times for minor emergency services. We are not qualified as a trauma level emergency room. Therefore there are circumstances, such as cardiovascular events, in which patients are better served in a trauma level hospital based facility or in another specialty based facility. Our medical providers make that decision based on the specifics of the medical situation. If need be, the physician will transfer the patient to an institution that can provide a higher level of care.
Does your Emergency Services Department prescribe refills for medications written by another Physician?
Refills of medication are usually gladly prescribed after an evaluation by the medical provider. However, there are some rare instances when refills may not be prescribed depending on the specific medical situation. Examples may include medications not routinely prescribed by physicians trained in Emergency Medicine and controlled substances requiring triplicate prescriptions.
